THE OFFICE OF RESEARCH AND GRADUATE PROGRAMS is hosting
Implementing Open Science on Wednesday, March 7 from 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM in
Elliott Hall Room N219. Join faculty and graduate students in the Psychology Department
for a panel discussion on the ways in which open science methods and practices
can be incorporated into research, mentoring, teaching, and editorial work. The
group will share concrete ideas and resources for making research more open and
reproducible. Panel speakers include Professors Alex Rothman, Moin Syed, Nate
Helwig, and Pat Frazier. Light lunch will be served. All members of the UMN

LATIS - Advanced Qualitative Analysis
LATIS offers a workshop series free to all faculty and graduate
students on wide array of topics. The next workshop is Advanced Qualitative
Analysis and will include hands-on exercises and cover a variety of approaches
to coding qualitative materials, including various types of codes and their
uses, while also addressing the mechanics of how to code with highlighter &
paper or qualitative analysis software. Register online for the workshop on Friday, March 2, 2018; 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM in 131A Bruininks

Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Alliance for Diversity and Inclusion
THE GRADUATE SCHOOL invites
participation in the Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Alliance for Diversity and
Inclusion. The Alliance provides an opportunity for all graduate students
and postdoctoral researchers to work collectively on issues of common interest
to support diversity and inclusion. The Alliance is also looking for students
and postdocs who are interested in serving on a steering committee that will
help further define the purpose and scope of this group. If you are interested
in joining the Alliance steering committee, please indicate your interest via
the registration form by March 5, 2018.
