The Big Ten Academic Alliance (BTAA) and the Smithsonian Institution invite fellowship applications for one-year fellowships to support research in residence at Smithsonian Institution facilities. Fellowships carry a stipend of $32,700 for 12 months. All fields of study that are actively pursued by the museums and research organizations of the Smithsonian Institution are eligible.

Deadline: 5PM (EST) December 1, 2016
There is no limit on the number of applicants who can apply from the University of Minnesota. The Smithsonian Institution will review applications and award up to twenty-five BTAA Fellowships.
Eligibility Criteria:
Must be enrolled in a doctoral program at the University of Minnesota
Must have completed all course work for the program
Must have been admitted into doctoral candidacy
Must have satisfied all requirements except completion of the dissertation
