THE AMERICAN HISTORY WORKSHOP AT
THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN is pleased announce its call for papers for its
conference, “Constructing America: Identities, Infrastructure and Institutions”
on May 4 – 5, 2018 at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. There are
particularly interested in papers that approach the idea of construction in
innovative, counter-intuitive, or interdisciplinary ways, or which destabilize
established national narratives. Scholars working in all periods of American
history are welcome. Please submit an abstract (150 – 300 words) and a CV to
the conference planning committee at umusgradconference@gmail.com by
