AFRICAN AMERICAN CINEMA (ARTH5655) will be
taught this Fall 2016 by Robert Silberman & John Wright on Tuesdays and
Thursdays from 2:30 – 4:30pm in Anderson 250. The course will look at African
American cinematic achievements, from the silent films of Oscar Micheaux
through the contemporary Hollywood and independent films. The course will
utilize both film and critical readings to examine African American cinema.
