The Ethnic and Religious Studies Department at Metropolitan State is looking for community (adjunct) faculty candidates for the following courses for Spring 2018:

ETHS 304: Environmental Justice and Public Policy
Candidates must have demonstrated ability to teach fully online asynchronous preparations and have experience with effectively using a Learning Management System (i.e., D2L, Moodle, etc.). Metro State’s LMS is D2L Brightspace.

ETHS 324: Race and the Internet
Preference for candidates with demonstrated ability to teach fully online asynchronous preparations and/or hybrid preparations, and have experience with effectively using a Learning Management System (i.e., D2L, Moodle, etc.). Metro State’s LMS is D2L/Brightspace.

ETHS 380: Special Topics (Hmong Studies)
Preference for candidates focused on Minnesota and/or the Upper Midwest, and who can teach an upper level survey on Hmong culture, immigration, and experience. This course can either be a real-time preparation (6:00-9:20 pm once weekly) or a hybrid or fully online preparation, depending on the candidates’ preferences and teaching skill set.

Metropolitan State community faculty must either hold a graduate degree (MA or PhD) in an Ethnic Studies-related field or interdiscipline in the Humanities or Social Sciences, OR have a minimum of 16 completed graduate credits at the time of hire in an Ethnic Studies-related field or interdiscipline in the Humanities or Social Sciences. These positions are bound by the Inter Faculty Organization-Minnesota State Master Agreement (Art. 10, §J), and are non-probationary.
