Decorative Arts Trust Scholarships


THE DECORATIVE ARTS TRUST is offering two scholarships to participate in its upcoming Study Trip Abroad, Celebrating Chippendale’s 300th: Signature Collections in Yorkshire and Scotland, on April 4-11, 2018. This scholarship is for graduate students and young professionals whose research focuses on furniture, particularly 18th-century material connected to Chippendale’s career. The Decorative Arts Trust is offering two scholarships to participate in its upcoming Study Trip Abroad, Celebrating Chippendale's 300th: Signature Collections in Yorkshire and ScotlandApril 4-11, 2018. This opportunity is available to graduate students and young professionals in the United States and Europe, in both curatorial and conservation disciplines, whose research focuses on furniture, particularly 18th-century material connected to Chippendale's career. The tour itinerary is found on the Trust's website. Interested parties should submit the following materials to thetrust@decorativeartstrust.org by November 30, 2017
  • a 500-word essay detailing the applicant's past research on 18th-century furniture as well as the prospective impact of this experience on his or her academic and professional goals; 
  • a letter of recommendation from a faculty adviser or employer; and 
  • a CV or resume.
