Northwestern University- Dept. of African American Studies Assistant Professor Position

The Department of African American Studies at Northwestern University solicits applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in African American religion to begin September 1, 2011. Ph.D. required. Candidates should have a strong record in the field of African American religion or, more broadly, African diaspora religion, from either a humanistic or social scientific perspective. Application deadline: December 1, 2010.

The Department of African American Studies at Northwestern University solicits
applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in African American religion to
begin September 1, 2011. Newly-tenured associate professors will also be considered.
Candidates should have a strong record in the field of African American religion
or, more broadly, African diaspora religion, from either a humanistic or social
scientific perspective. The position is full-time in the Department of African
American Studies but may include a courtesy appointment in another department.
Applicants should have a strong commitment to research, teaching, and supervising
student research. Ph.D. required. Applicants should submit a letter of application,
curriculum vitae, a writing sample, and three letters of recommendation. For fullest
