Hello University of Minnesota Academic Departments,

My name is Melissa Hill, and I am contacting you as an organizer on Angie Craig’s Campaign for Congress. I am reaching out as this upcoming week we will be kicking off our on campus campaign efforts through our first ever “UMN Students for Angie Craig: Phone Bank”. The event will take place on Tuesday, February 13th, from 6-8pm in Murphy Hall room 214.  It would be incredible to see the University of Minnesota students volunteering and giving back to the community. Plus, if we get a big enough volunteer turnout, Angie herself might stop by! At the event we will offer a quick training in how to make calls for Angie Craig before starting the phone calls.

This an extremely high profile and competitive race and is therefore a great opportunity for students to get involved in Minnesota and U.S. politics. For those who aren’t aware of Angie Craig and the issues she stands for I will go ahead and attach a link to her bio (https://www.angiecraig.com/meet-angie/) as well as a link to her issues page (https://www.angiecraig.com/issues/). Something that might interest you, as a college student, is her stance on the prices of education:

As a member of Congress, I would support legislation to make the first two years of post-secondary education free – whether it is technical education, earning an associate’s degree, or the first two-years of a bachelor’s degree. “
